A Spring Day...

I am learning I can sit up all by myself
(And I can't wait for summer, wishing I was in Hawaii)
Yeah, it is finally nice outside. Let's Go!

So, we took a trip to see where my dad works.

Just doing some accounting stuff.

Then we went to the park to check out the swings.

Oh, did I love the swings. I didn't want to get out.
(He wouldn't look at the camera because he was too interested in checking everything and everybody out)
Can't wait to do it all over again next week!!

My new auntie...

Congratulations Josh and Lauren!!!

We had a wonderful time this weekend. Brayden officially welcomed Auntie Lauren into the family. Well kind of. He slept through the important parts like the wedding ceremony and the reception. But really he was excited about it, he got up at 6 am the past couple of days waiting for the big wedding day to come.
A big thanks to Jon's parents, Dave and Patty, for helping take care of Brayden this weekend, since we were both in the wedding, things were a little hectic. I know that he had a blast hanging out with you guys. Let's just hope the 9 pm bedtimes don't become a habit when the grandparents watch him!! I think they had too much fun they didn't want to put him down to bed.

Overall it was a great weekend. Brayden was so wiped from all of the festivities he actually slept last night all night long!! Not one wake-up, maybe we need to do this more often.

Happy Easter...

5 Months
Brayden turned 5 months old on Thursday!! It is amazing how quickly he has grown up and how much he is learning everyday. My mom came up last week and taught him how to do raspberries, now he is constantly sticking his tongue out at us and blowing bubbles. Jon has started playing peek a boo with him, but when you surprise him, he squeals so loud. I think we might have a problem next weekend at the church trying to keep him quiet! I guess we have to be careful what we teach him these days.

Look how much bigger I am than the bear now!
I like to lay on my tummy and pretend like I am swimming

My mom calls me a Koala bear because anytime you put your hand near me, I wrap my legs around it

I love food!! More please and faster!!

Mommy and Me
Nanny time
We have had temporary fill-ins for the last two weeks while we have searched for a new nanny and we couldn't say thanks enough to everyone that has helped us out. A big thanks to Melissa this week, she watched the boys twice. She was a life savor, literally. On Thursday our carbon monoxide detector was going off. Off course, we just thought oh the batteries are dead, but no the carbon monoxide light was lighting up. So Melissa called us immediately and luckily since we live so close to the police station we called them to come over and take a reading. Well of course, they had to have the fire department do it. So here comes two fireman into the house and sure enough the carbon monoxide level was at 80! Not lethal, but pretty dangerous for two tiny babies. Come to find out they were power washing our garage 4 stores below and the fumes were seeping up into the condos. We had to air out the place and get the kids out of there immediately!! Thank goodness for her quick thinking.
I had both the boys one morning for a while and it was hilarious. Before the boys didn't really care that the other one was there. Now they totally know that the other one is there. It is pretty tricky if one gets a bottle, you better believe that the other wants one too and now!! Our new nanny starts on Monday, she sure will have her hands full with them.

Oh hi Colin, good to see you

Or maybe not (he is sticking his tongue out at him)

No really, it's good to see you

But if you could just move that way, that would be great

Enjoying some tummy time together

Until Brayden steals Colin's toy
Happy Easter
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Brayden had a blast. He loved opening his Easter basket this morning. First first loved his basket, then he threw it on the ground. Pretty funny!

Happy Easter

I thought we were supposed to eat the eggs

So the Easter Bunny brought me Peeps, but I can't get to them

Maybe I can just eat my way though the package

I found this basket full of candy and I decided I had to get my hand on it

So I came up with a plan, pull the table cloth and move the basket towards me

Almost there....

Got it!!

Overall it was a great Easter
It was Grandma Patty's birthday on Saturday and she was so sick with pneumonia, we sure hope she is feeling better and soon. Happy Birthday!!! We can't wait to see her this weekend to celebrate her birthday and celebrate Auntie Lauren and Uncle Josh's wedding!!

And we're off...

the medicine that is!!! Brayden took his final dose on Saturday and they told us it would take about 3-5 days to finally rid his system. So now we are completely medicine free!!! What a wonderful feeling!! We are still very cautiously watching him to make sure there are no seizures, but since we have gone so long without one, hopefully it will continue to be that way.

We have been enjoying all the visitors that we have been having over the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately we had to get rid of our nanny this week, so we have had a bunch of fill-ins to help us out. A big thanks to Erin, my mom, and Mrs. Ludwig!! Hopefully we found a replacement so we can get these kids back on schedule.

Brayden had his four month check up last week. Here are his stats: length 25 3/4 inches (75th percentile), 15 lbs. 11 oz. (75th percentile), and head circumference 41.3 cm (25 th percentile). He did really good with the shots, though he wanted to just be cuddled and he gave the saddest face for about a day!! He put that bottom lip out pretty far. The doctor said to give him until he is 5 months old and to mark it on our calender to start letting him "cry it out". Well wouldn't you know, last night he slept through the whole night!! I don't know if it is that he is completely off the medicine that he was a better sleeper or if it was that we gave him real food yesterday too. I put the video on of his first bite, not too bad. Pretty funny though, today I came home from work and Jon told me that Brayden didn't like the squash at all and that he had to tickle him to even open his mouth. Well come to find out, it was freezing cold and he didn't know that you had to warm it up. Funny that when I warmed it up, he ate the whole thing.

Since Brayden was in the NICU as a baby, the state has a program to make sure that all children get the services that they need in order to strive. They came and evaluated Brayden a couple weeks ago and come to find out, we have to do physical therapy once a week with him. His right side is weaker than his left side. He grabs and holds better on his left side. So we are working with the therapist to strengthen his right side up. They gave us some homework to do for the week and so far he is acing it! Hopefully he will keep it up and strengthen his right side up pretty quickly.

So this is what you call "March Madness", I enjoy watching basketball with daddy

I learned that playing with Uncle Jimmy's hat is a lot of fun

I am learning to do a bunch of things at once, eating my hands and trying to get my feet into my mouth

I am waiting for this so called "human food"

Mom, you are not fast enough, I guess I will try this instead

My first real food experience

2 weeks worth of pictures...

So this is what you call a birthday party?!

Max's 1st Birthday Party!!!

I turned 4 months old last Monday

This looks like something I can put in my mouth (It is hard to get a good picture these days without him moving everywhere)

I tried cereal for the first time last week and I loved it once I figured out what was going on

Everytime we go to get Brayden out of his crib he is in a completely different position, he has learned to use the rails to move around (not to mention he gets his feet stuck in them too)

Uncle Joey came and visited this week and Uncle Josh came by last week (I forgot to take a picture of them). It was also Uncle Josh's 21st Birthday last week, happy birthday!

I can't resist dressing him up in this hat, he makes the funniest faces when I put it on

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Look what I learned this week

We are still really excited that we are getting Bradyen off his medicine. He has been pretty fussy the past few days, but it is hard to say what is going on with him. He is getting off this very addictive drug, so we are trying to be as patient as possible. Even if it means getting up twenty times at night to put the pacifier back in his mouth. Our second guess of why he is fussy is that he might be teething. He puts everything in his mouth and he is a drooling machine. Of course, I am in his mouth like everyday checking it out. We have two little buds right underneath the gums, so it could be any day here soon. Grandma Patty and Grandpa Dave came up and visited us this weekend. Brayden sure hammed it up and showed off all his little tricks.

Mommy gave me a toothbrush and it went straight to my mouth and I knew exactly what to do with it

Look mom I am really good at brushing

I also learned that I can hold my own bottle!!
